Set Up

With the use of a venue for the first time many of the Fragmaster group were uncharacteristically early. Thanks to some escaped horses on the M3 Ant and Dave were much delayed and it was 11am before we were ready to kick off the games. We all knew their lateness was just an excuse not to help put up the tables ;)
Despite it being a sunny day everyone felt cold but being unsure on whether the power could take running a heater on top of 13 PCs we were left to shiver.

Winner of Last Man Standing
Ant

The other players were all very happy for Ant's victory
Lunch
There were plenty of snacks for people but to keep the reflexes up you can't beat a nice hot lunch of chips. We ordered 13 large chips and a savaloy, The guy behind the bar was a little confused, "What just one savaloy?” We told him we didn't want to over do the meat.
Back at the hut in typical British fashion a bottle of ketchup appeared from no where and a pleasant hour of eating and chatting passed.

The teams were divided across the left side and the right side of the room.
Operation Clean Sweep proved a popular map at the previous LAN so it was the obvious choice to kick off the BF2 part of the day. With many in the group being new to the game it was left to Henry to dominate.
The mosque in the middle of Mashtuur City was an ideal location for the MEC forces to repel the infidel Americans. The tight confines of the town were a big hit and this map will definitely be making a return to our map cycles.
In Songhua Stalemate Henry demonstrated such skill in the air that Jornce made is his personal vendetta to fire as many stingers towards the apache as possible but it was left to Cannon to take Henry out. It will come as no surprise that discover that Henry and Cannon were on the same team. Yes the Itchy Trigger Finger award once again goes to Dave.
The final map was Dragon Valley and here the fighting got really dirty. Anti Tank missiles were the order of the day and no vehicle was safe. After being such a hindrance to the Right side, thanks the excellent command of Dex on the Left side, Rich got behind enemy lines to plant enough C4 to silence the Left’s artillery.
Story from Ant
"I was injured, not wanting to limp half way accross the map taking hours, I saw a team member in a jeep going my direction, I stood in the middle of the road flagging him down, he cam into view, traveling quite fast then bang!! Ran me over! Yes it was Road Kill Dave.
The DoW section of the FragMaster Cup was staged as a 1v1 elimination ladder on Abadon All Hope.

Winner of Dawn of War
Rich
Playoff for the Frag Cup
With Ant having won the LMS section of the Cup and Rich struggling through to take the Dawn of War section it was time for a playoff.

The tension in the air was electric, though that might just have been us overloading the fragile circuits in the hut. With everyone watching the 1 on 1 Deathmatch began with Rich taking a lead only to have it chipped back by Ant. For 20 minutes the two combatants were neck and neck with rockets being exchanged at a horrific pace. Around the halfway mark Ant moved into the lead to the delight of the crowd. With the 5 minute warning Ant’s nerve seemed to slip and Rich moved in to a firm lead.
The final minute counted down and Rich lifted the Cup.

Close
With the days main gaming finished everyone settled down to fill the last hour playing whatever took their fancy. Classic Doom though holding much promise proved too unstable to run.
Many people were confused by our stupid competition to praise the last person to require the use of the toilet.
Here's a picture of the toilets.

No one wanted to stay in there long enough to take a picture of the inside :)
Special mention has to be made of the bird that lives in it's nice little nest in the top of the toilet cistern. That must have startled half the group during the day.
Henry made everyone laugh by making his avatar do the plevic thrust victory dance whenever he won a match of Unreal.
Matthew taking out the power to the top end of the hall thanks to his falling over the cable after his slam dunk.
